The Georgetown Football Club (GFC) , BK International Western Tigers, Santos and Silver Shottas football clubs were the latest teams to make it through to the next round of the Mackeson English/Kashif and Shanghai Futsal Competition when action continued on Saturday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Silver Shottas defeated Grove Hi Tech 6 – 3, Santos sank Ann’s Grove 7 – 1, GFC gained a 3 – 1 victory over Buxton United and Western Tigers crushed Kitty Northern Rangers 5 – 1.

The exhibition, competition continued with North Ruimveldt defeating the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company 1 – 0 and Albouystown beating East Ruimveldt Taxi Drivers 3 – 1.

John Waldron led the way for Silver Shottas with a helmet – trick and he was supported by Darryl Dolphin who scored a double.

Waldron scored in the seventh, 29th, 32nd and 38th minutes and Dolphin scored in the 23rd and 27th minutes while Travis Jones and John Matthews were successful in the 18th and fourth minutes for Grove Hi Tech whilst also being helped by an own goal from the opposition.

The GFC/Buxton United match saw Peter Parks recording a hat-trick to help his team into the next round.

Parks found the back of the net in the ninth, 15th and 27th minutes, while the Buxton team who had numerous opportunities to score went home goalless.

One of Guyana’s futsal giants, Santos, relentlessly pounded Ann’s Grove into the ground as they were led by double from Michael Pedro (8th, 29th) and Travis Garraway (15th, 30th). Their team mates Jevon Gibson (23rd) and Jamal Downer (27th) scored one goal each and Santos other goal came via an own goal by the opposition.

Western Tigers had Devon Millington (25th, 26th) scoring a double and Phillip Rowley, Shermon David and Michael Henry getting past the custodian in the 21st, 17th and 28th minutes, respectively to overshadow Rangers’ one goal.
