Another five matches in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Super League competition were contested on Sunday across the country and four victors emerged while Alpha United and Buxton United battled to a draw.

At the Georgetown Cricket Club ground (GCC) Alpha and Buxton United played to a two–all draw and Camptown defeated the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) 2–0.

Seawall FC sank Victoria Kings 2–0 at the Plaisance Community Centre ground, Milerock rocked Liquid Gold 1–0 in Bartica and Bakewell Top XX treated their home crowd to a 3–1 victory over Rosignol United.

Plaisance ground had Clement Brown recording a second half double to get his team over the line against the Kings. Brown scored in the 67th and 89th minutes.

Over at Bartica, Jermain Beckles scored in the 80th minute for Milerock to give them the lead they defended to the end to gain a victory over the home team.

Bakewell Top XX came from behind and roasted Rosignol in their showdown at the Mackenzie Sports Complex ground.

Rosignol went ahead as early as the third minute when Clifford Campbell found the back of the net, then Top XX equalized in the 15th minute, compliments of Jerome Macalister.

Jamie Wilson and Jermaine Caster scored in the 60th and 90th minutes to close the lid on the opposition.
Over at the GCC ground, Alpha United was able to draw first blood in the 36th minute from a Gordon Henry strike. Buxton equalized until the second half as Jamal Phyll pulled the game into balance in the 63rd minute.

Buxton’s captain Clive Andries then received an opportunity to push his team ahead and successfully scored in the 75th minute putting the opposition under immense pressure going down to the final whistle.

Alpha was able to equalize after pushing their formation up and launching numerous shots at goal to finally find the back of the net in the final minute of the showdown when Howard Lowe got an opening and tucked the ball away.

In the final match of the night Nigel Codrington and Kwane LaFluer scored in the 26th and 34th minutes to put GDF away.

The GDF play was quite clustered at times and they were not capitalizing on the opportunities  opened to them which caused them the match while the Camptown were  very relaxed in their play after doubling the lead.
