Mackeson English/K&S Futsal Tournament

A terrific display of skill from Devon Millington, who rattled up a helmet-trick, propelled his team BK International Western Tigers into the quarterfinal of the Mackeson English/Kashif and Shanghai Futsal Tournament as they defeated Sunburst Camptown in the final match of the night on Monday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Millington’s helmet-trick was completed in the final minute of the first half of extra time to help Tigers up to six goals, topping the five that the opposition scored at the fulltime whistle.

Western Tigers controlled the first half of the encounter as it concluded 3 – 1 and  by this time Millington had already recorded a double by scoring in the second and eighth minutes and his teammate Michael Henry (7th) accounted for the other goal.

Camptown’s lone goal in that half was scored in the 14th minute by Rishawn Sandiford who went on to finish with a double.
Camptown bounced backed in the second half and recorded two good goals which drove the match into extra time with the teams deadlocked at three goals each.

Sandiford and Sherwyn Codogan found the back of the net in the 17th and 27th minutes,  respectively.
Camptown’s Maurice Prince and Maurice Carter were successful in the 32nd and 34th minutes but it proved futile to the two goals scored by Millington in the first half of extra time and the other Michael Henry goal which was also scored in the that half.

The spectators also witnessed Santos bowing out to Georgetown Football Club (GFC) 3 – 4 on penalty kicks after being deadlocked 3 – 3 at fulltime. Pele and Alpha United both crushed Silver Shottas and Plaisance by a four-goal margin (5 – 1) while Flamingo eased past Black Pearl 2 – 1.
Peter Parks (10th, 32nd) chalked up a double for GFC and Delroy Henry supported with a 29th-minute goal while Travis Garraway (12th), Jevon Gibson (26th), and Dexter Henry (31st) accounted for the three Santos goals.

Goals from Flamingo’s Dwayne Layne (22nd) and Lincoln Bishop (25th) proved too much for the Black Pearl side that only managed to score one goal. Mark Carter’s consolation goal in the 29th minute for Black Pearl almost gave the side some hope of equalizing.

Solomon Austin was again on the ball for Pele and completed a first half double (4th, 13th) which went along with Shemroy Arthur’s eighth minute goal to give Pele command of the first 15 minutes of play.

Lloyd Gilbert opened the second half by scoring a 19th minute goal for Silver Shottas then Pele piled on two quick goals to the tally to develop an unassailable lead with eight minutes to go in the final half. Those goals were scored by Travis Grant – 21st and Sheldon Yorrick – 22nd.
What looked like an upset early on in the Plaisance/Alpha match where Plaisance drew first blood through a Troy Charles strike in the second minute, turned out to be the complete opposite as Alpha ended up blowing them away.

Plaisance was able to restrain Alpha from scoring against them in the first half but it became a bit  quite and tough task to keep up in the second half.
Shawn Bishop led the way with a double (20th, 22nd) while Andrew Murray Jr., Wendell St. Hill and Leon Grumble scored in the 25th, 29th and 30th minutes, respectively.
