Approximately 160 teams will clash for the $200,000 winner’s purse while the second place team will get $50,000 and trophies, all compliments of Ansa McAl, distributer of Carib Beer.

Ansa McAl Marketing Assistant Darshnie Yusuf revealed that her company was optimistic that this would be a successful venture and also said that their sponsorship for the event would be continuous.

Ansa McAl has thrown $1M into the event but most of it Yusuf says has gone to administration since the tournament will be played across Guyana.

Vice Chairman of the GSL, Halim Khan, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Sport and especially to Ansa Mc Al whom he says has made this imitative which has been in a pipeline for some time possible.

“We at the GSL believe that this would certainly live up to our motto which is to promote unity and harmony through sports since this is a national event,” Khan declared.
Meanwhile, Minister of Sport Dr. Frank Anthony lauded the GSL and Ansa Mc Al for bringing the event to Guyana. He also pledged his ministry’s support to make the event a success.
