QC badminton tournament underway

Nicholas Ali opened up the first day of action at the Queen’s College Badminton Courts when he defeated Dwayne Edward during the QC Annual Lower and Upper School Boys and Girls Singles Tournament which commenced on October 5.

In the Upper School Boys category it was the talented national player Ali who defeated rival Edward 21-6, 21-14. Stephan Greaves and Easa Sanichara were also successful in this category.

Greer Jackson proved her worth in the Lower School Girl’s Singles category when she defeated opponent Tera Jaipaul.

Badminton Coach Gokarn Ramdhani said the Upper School Girl’s category could not get underway as a few of the players had made commitments to their studies. However, it was decided that the category would be played today.
