The inaugural Associated Construction Service (ACS) Under-23 50-over knockout cricket competition organised by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) for first division clubs in the Ancient County got off to an exciting start with centuries from Rose Hall Town Bakewell batsmen Jason Sinclair who slammed 108 and Dominique Rickie scoring an unbeaten 100.

RHTB were able to amass a massive 341-3 in 50 overs against Upper Corentyne who eventually were bowled out for 206. They lost the game by 135 runs despite S. Narinedat stroking 51 and R. Persaud scoring 45. RHTB off-spinner Troy Mathieson captured 6-16 from 5.3 overs.

Also scoring half centuries were Vedesh Singh of Rose Hall Community Centre (RHCC) and Wahied Edwards of Young Warriors.

Meanwhile, in other matches played, at Cumberland, Canje, Young Warriors beat RHCC by seven wickets. RHCC, winning the toss and batting first, scored 178 in 31.2 overs with Vedesh Singh scoring 50 and Vishal Mohabir 32. Ameer Budhoo had figures of 4-17 from 3.2 overs, Farouk Hussain 2-21 from 6 overs and Devendra Ramoutar 2-40 from 8 overs.

Young Warriors in reply made 179-3 in 23.1 overs with Wahied Edwards making a breezy 58, Farouk Hussain 42 and Daryl Narine 33.
And at Port Mourant ground, Port Mourant beat Skeldon Community Centre by seven wickets. Skeldon Community Centre lost the toss and were sent in to bat and were bundled out for 80 in 20 overs with Bisham Deolall taking 4-9 from 6 overs and George Hughes got figures of 4-44 from 7 overs. Port Mourant quickly reached 81-3 in 11 overs with Devendra Thakurdeen making 47.

At Scottsburg, Edinburgh beat Scottsburg United by 31 runs after Edinburgh won the toss and made 109 in 25 overs. Yudrunauth Seepersaud made 18 while Mark Lionel had figures of 3-17 from 9 overs, Akram Razack 3-30 from 6 overs and Nyeem Yacoob 2-9 from 4 overs.

Scottsburg United in response only managed 78 in 27 overs with Anthony Bramble top scoring with 14. Seepersaud returned with the ball to grab 4-15 from 6 overs and Raid Ali 3-20 from 6 overs.

At Edinburgh, Bermine beat West Berbice by eight wickets. West Berbice, losing the toss and sent in to bat  made 117 all out in 25 overs with Andrew Dennis making 21 and Arthley Bailey 17. The main Andrew Williams who took 3-28 from 7.1 overs, Terrence De Cunha 3-39 from 5 overs and Joemal La Fleur 3-2 from 2 overs.

Bermine in reply eased to 118-2 in 24 overs with Andrew Williams scoring an undefeated 30, De Cunha 29, and La Fleur 22 not out.
