Santos and Camptown meet in final tomorrow

Santos and Sunburst Camptown will face off in the final of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Chubby Under-13 Competition to decide who wears this year’s crown whileThomas United and Flamingo will contest the third place showdown at the Tucville Playfield, tomorrow.

Action gets underway at 8:30am with the third place play off which preceeds the final of the double header that commences at 9:45am.

Santos and Camptown defeated Flamingo and Thomas United 1 – 0 and 3 – 0 in the semi-final round on Wednesday evening at the Tucville Ground.
In the curtain raiser, Camptown got past Thomas on penalty kicks after being deadlocked at nil all at full time.

When it came down to the penalty kicks Oziel Small, Lezan Lord and Jason Williams all scored for Camptown while Carl Griffith, Kevin Andries and Reikel Landie missed all three attempts for Thomas to give Camptown a comfortable win in the end.

The feature showdown had Santos getting past Flamingo by a slim 1 – 0 margin where the eventual victors went ahead in the first half.

Jerome Liddell scored the decider for Santos in the 26th minute just four minutes before the half time whistle.

Santos successfully defended their one goal lead for the remainder of the match up against a relentless side not letting up in search of an equalizer.
