The stage is set for this weekend’s Sanjay’s Jewellery Medal Play Golf tournament tomorrow at Lusignan Golf course starting at 12:30 hours.

Secretary of the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) Ronald Bulkan disclosed Sanjay Jewellery has come on board for the second time this year in sponsoring a tournament and the Club was extremely pleased by the gesture.

Carlos Adams had won the previous tournament staged last month. With just over a month  before the Guyana Open championships the local golfers will be looking to sharpen their game for the national two-day event in November.

Among the players expected to be in contention for top honours today are Adams, Munnaf Arjune, Patrick Prashad, Melissa Humphrey, Ian Gouveia, Alfred Mentore,  Andre Cummings, Jerome Khan, Lester Alvis, Mike Guyadin,  Mike Mangal, Christine Sukhram, Bolaram Deo, Joann Deo, Maurice Solomon, Colin Ming, Gavin Todd, Mark Lashley, Imran Khan, Mel Sankies, Brian Hackett, William Walker, Albert Russell, Albert Semple, Ayube Subhan, Dr. Ram Singh and Chaterpaul Deo.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers and there will also be a prize for Nearest to the pin.
Proprietor of Sanjay’s Jewellery, Sanjay Persaud is expected to be on hand to present the prizes to the outstanding players.
