Madina looking to win MACORP golf tourney

Another exciting tournament is on the cards for this weekend when Machine Corporation of Guyana (MACORP) sponsors  its second Annual Medal Play Golf tournament on Saturday at the Lusignan Golf Course, East Coast Demerara. MACORP, the heavy duty equipment company of Providence had sponsored a tournament last year as part of its 5th anniversary and because of the overwhelming support by golfers plans were put in place to sponsor another tournament this year.

MACORP Chief Executive Officer Jorge Madina, a passionate golfer is expected to be in action and will be looking to stake a claim of  the first prize. Also expected to be in contention are Colin Ming, Vijai Deo, Mohanlall Dinanauth and Ronald Bulkan who are carded off prizes at last weekend’s European Union tournament.

The other players who will be vying for top honours include Ian Gouveia, Patrick Prashad, Esau Shamshudin, Albert Russell, Geert  Heikens, Lester Alvis, Chatterpaul Deo, Imran Khan, Mike Mangal, Lester Alvis, Joann Deo,  Melissa Humphrey, Brian Gladford, Jerome Khan, Maurice Solomon, Brian Hackett, Munaff Arjune, Christine Sukhram, Robert Hanoman, Mike Guyadin, Bruce Cummings, Andre Cummings, William Walker, Mel Sankies,   Bolaram Deo, Dr. Ram Singh, Clifford Reis, Mark Lashley, Alfred  Mentore, Carlos Adams and Albert Semple.

Prizes will be awarded to the winner, runner-up and third place finisher. There will also be incentives for  the longest drive, longest putt, lowest gross and Nearest to the Pin.

Other senior officials of the company are expected to be on hand to assist in the presentation of prizes.

Tee off is at a 12:30 hours and players are reminded to register by tomorrow with the Club at telephone number 220-5660.
