Pollydore maintains lead

Godfrey Pollydore maintained the lead after placing second in the penultimate stage of the annual Tour of Guyana five-stage race yesterday.

Yesterday’s stage in Essequibo from Supenaam to Charity and then back to Suddie saw Pollydore, who has not won a stage, placing second behind Mario Forde (2:40.13s) with a time of 2:40.14s.

Warren Mac Kay was third in 2:40.18s while Marloe Rodman 2:40.20s, Horace Burrowes 2:40.21s and Robin Persaud 2:40.22s closed out the bunched times.

Pollydore leads the overall table with a time of 7:43.16s.

He will be strongly challenged by Dwayne ‘Road Hog’ Gibbs today to maintain the lead in the last leg from Kara Kara, Linden to Homestretch Avenue for the finish.
