Madramootoo blasts another century

Berbice under-19 all-rounder Terrence Madramootoo blasted his second  century in succession to lead Rose Hall Town Bakewell Cricket Club (RHTB) to a crushing 145-run victory over Nigg Invaders at the Area ‘H’ ground in the New Building Society second division tournament.

The victory was the fifth in succession for the youthful Bakewell team which stands one win away from reaching the playoff stage of the tournament.

Batting first after losing the toss on a wicket with a lot of moisture due to heavy overnight rain, RHTB soon found themselves in trouble at 32- 4 in the ninth over as medium pacer Kenneth Kalika created problems for the top order.

Clinton Pestano (15), Dominic Rickey (2), Trevor Thomas (1) and Eon Hooper all fell cheaply. Extras contributed 36 to the total.

Bowling for RHTB, off-spinners Loydel Lewis took 3-17 off five overs, Eon Hooper 3-15 off eight overs and medium pacers Rawle Perreira 2-7 and Clinton Pestano 2 for 5.

Rose Hall Town Bakewell’s last match in their zone will be against Tain and victory for them would take them into the group playoffs.
