The Children are the future of Guyana, healthy snacks provided for Children is most welcome.

When the Children are hungry they fall asleep and cannot focus on their studies. It is necessary that this program take precedence to benefit the children.

I noticed on my visit to Guyana the amount of Literacy classes now in Guyana. Many of the Children are way below their grade level.

Thousands of poor children attend school everyday without a proper diet. In fact, many don’t go to school as a result of poverty.

Hopefully, they will benefit from this program if it is done properly.

It is a commendable effort and should be supported.

These are the areas where the government should spend money and not on PPP’s pet and propaganda projects or political patronage and cronyism.

What’s the difference between biscuit and cookies. All that milk will run them bellies, hope the schools provide pampers and proper toilets.

Dont praise them too quick. when i was in school back in the day the milk was real good and the biscuits too. with the world recession and all the economic problems now facing the world, the biscuits and milk might be more symbolic than nutritious. so lets wait and see.

What about the Cod liver oil capsules and the vitamin B complex Malt??
During my time as a toddler, we got chocolate or strawberry milk, biscuits, capsules and the malt syrup, and all for free may I add. Guyana was a great country back then, so we simply took her largess for granted.

Healthy foods equals strong bodies and minds. A proper, nutritionally balanced meal before school starts will go a long way for our children, their families and our country.
The only thing missing is the inclusion of a fruit for much needed vitamins that may not be found in the milk or biscuits. A good fruit that covers a wide spectrum of vitamins and is locally available is the banana.
I am in agreement with the cod liver oil comment. It contains fatty acids necessary for good brain and eye development. They are now discovering the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids here in the US when we knew it all along!

I totally agree that this is the best bit of news to feed the little ones with full cream milk and not non fat milk!! Our children are our future and this initiative definitely will go a long way. I sincerely hope this feeding program kicks off!!
