Twenty-year-old Terrence Winns of 217 Middle Road, La Penitence was not required to plead to two indictable counts of attempted murder.
It is alleged that on October 13 last year in Albouystown, Winns with intent to commit murder wounded Atto Coats.
It is also alleged that on December 31, Winns, with intent to commit murder, wounded Delon Hoyte.

Prosecutor Sherwin Mathews said that on October 13, at Cooper Street, Albouystown, Coats was standing in front of a yard when Winns approached him and snatched his cell phone.

When he requested that Winns return it, an argument ensued and reportedly resulted in Winns stabbing him thrice to his upper chest with a knife. Winns fled the scene while Coats collapsed on the road. He was later rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by onlookers.

Mathews also stated that on December 31, at James Street, Albouystown, Hoyte was also standing in front of a yard when Winns approached him and pushed him behind his head. An argument followed and Winns allegedly stabbed Hoyte several times to his upper chest with a knife. Winns again fled the scene while Hoyte was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

The prosecutor noted that both men were in a critical condition at the hospital.
Coats and Hoyte both stated that “we get stab near we heart” and added that they might have died if the knife had reached closer. The two then exhibited stitches that they had received as a result of the incidents.

The magistrate subsequently ordered that Winns be remanded to prison and that he appear again in court on January 26.

Nah!, nothing was wrong with the name. The paragraph stated “Mathews also stated that on December 31, at James Street Albouystown, Hoyte was also standing in front of a yard, when Winns approached him and pushed him behind his head”.

This sentence is a continuance of the prosecutor’s (Sherwin Mathews) statements.

Instead of stating the “prosecutor’s Sherwin Mathews” name in full again, the reporter just stated the prosecutor’s surname/last name, which is Mathews. Hope this explains, that SN did not made a mistake u did.
