The Alliance For Change has expressed its condolences to the relatives and friends of Parliamentary staffer Trevor Balgobin, who drowned on Sunday while on an outing to No.63 Beach.

In a press release, the party said that it was “deeply saddened” at his death and described him as a friend to everyone and as someone who earned the admiration and respect of all MPs especially those from the AFC for his cheerfulness, energy and willingness to meet their requests.

The party says that Balgobin will be deeply missed at the National Assembly and the AFC expects that the Assembly will collectively find a way to pay a fitting tribute to him.

The AFC also called for the Parliamentary Office to “review its procedures for outings and other events to ensure that the safety and security of all staff are adequately provided for.”
