Police were yesterday able to apprehend a suspect in an armed robbery which was committed on a Chinese Restaurant.
According to a police release, at about 2:30 p.m., two men entered the Young Ming Chinese Restaurant on D’Urban Street and after eating held up the female proprietor and took away $120,000 from a drawer before they escaped. The men were both armed with handguns, the police said.
After the police were informed, they acted on information received and ranks of a mobile patrol arrested a man in an alleyway in D’Urban Street. After he was searched, a toy gun was found in his possession.
The suspect has since been identified as one of the perpetrators of the robbery and is in police custody. He is expected to be charged shortly, the police said.

china has 20million laid off workers, are they committing crimes, these are crooks bent on earning a days pay by taking others.
so get real.
This of crime seems to be so common in Guyana. I’ve began to wonder what could be the reason for this.
Maybe jobs are not available?
Maybe wealth are concentrated in a small sector of the population?
Maybe people see no hope?
Maybe people don’t want to work?
Maybe there is no opportunity to legally accumulate wealth?
Maybe the payment rates are too low to mantain a proper standard of living?
Carl…stealing is a profession as well and if they are caught in this act then you should fit them in option # 4.
Why don`t you move back to Guyana and see for youself, you are talking because you are in america selling fast food.
Thanks to the po po he got caught.
The 5 star hilton at Camp street is fill to overflowing………these remanded prisoners are being fed on tax payers money…………let some of them help the city council to clean up the city of garbage, the city does need cleaning……….or they will continue with the petty crimes and alway end up in jail.
Put on some kind of monitoring device on their body and let them clean the city instead of sitting in jail feeding on taxpayers money.
After they get out they will commit crimes again maybe more serious and back to jail.
its called “CHAIN GANG”, let them work for a days meal and boarding, let them learn what is hard labour.
haha first a piece of stick, now a toy guy, LORD HAVE MERCY ON US ALL.
Soldier there is a category that carl left out; so much corruption that money is scarce to hire people. the government should be placed in that category.
John,,,Like you want join Samaroo to beat MT drums too,,,you need evidence to support your corruption allegations chief…
soldier you dont have to look far to know that corruption is abound in our country, read what the un report on guyana said, i know u read it but did’nt make any comment.
These fellas graduated from crimes of “choke and rob” to “eat and rob.” Give both a large dose of senna to cleanse them of their thieving ways.
SWAT, like you forget Chinese food does wuk like laxative, one hour later you visit the toilet and ready fuh seconds…. lol
On a serious note….YAY to the GPF! You caught one, good job, now how about the 2 gangsters who are terrorizing Sherrif Street businesses?
They loves to eat and rob, they didn’t expect that the police would be on their heels, poor eat and bore plate.
