-Bodies dumped in river
(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) IN A SCENE that bore resemblance to that of a mafia movie, two construction workers were found dead in the Felicity River.
Narad Sookoo, 29, and Tameshwar Doobay, 22, both Guyanese nationals living in St Augustine, were at their worksite at around 4 p.m. on Saturday when two cars pulled up alongside the site.
A group of men emerged from the cars and called across the two men.
A heated discussion followed and the two men were bound by the group of men and bundled into one of the vehicles.
Relatives of the men got word of the incident and made a report to St Joseph Police.
Any hope of finding the men alive ended yesterday when residents of Felicity made a report to Chaguanas police yesterday at around 9.30 a.m. about the discovery of two lifeless male bodies floating in the river just off Shipping Road.
The bodies were confirmed by relatives to be those of the two construction workers.
All their clothing was intact with the exception of their missing shoes.
Police said their bodies did not have any marks of violence, but suspect foul play in their drowning.
Southern Bureau homicide is continuing investigations into the death of the men.

I hope they will find the persons responsible for this terrable act,Guyanese one day things will get better in our country, and jobs will become available and no one will have to run to other countries looking for “betterment” that was the promise once given to the nation, sympathies to the families!!
Very strange that they would be killed just like that. It looks like there is more than meet the eye here.
I AGREE BOY. JUST A BETTER STANDARD OF LIVING WE WANT, THATS ALL
it could be any of many reasons for the acts of those whose life is worthless ! it’s sad when anyone dies home tragically ,, but it’s much more intense when it happens in another place ,,
where ,, only the fittest of de fit shall survive !…..RIP
worse must come before better arrive ! the pages of history has many such episodes ,, many of mine is in those pages ,, some for which i’m trying to be strong to not know the answers why ? ,, and that is where the inner strength is demanding of fortitude
it is enuff dat it happened what more pain is there knowing why it happened !
I don’t think this was just illegal immigrant business. There has to be more!
My sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased!
tell me why you think they were illegal immigrants, doesnt any guyanese have the right to go work in trini if they can find the money and time to go there?
Even in foreign land guyanese are being killed, my condolences goes out to the family.
The drug connection….Guyana, T&T, then off to the US. The sun by day and the moon by night. Give it so tauht ra. Can I get an amen.
I lay the death of these two men at the feet of the present government. They had no right to be in Trinidad. According to the government we have prosperity and ideal conditions here, therefore their expertise in construction would have been welcomed. Now they are gone. Just imagine when this gang took over they were five and twelve years old but they saw no future and emigrated. There is no guarantee however, that their outcome might have been different if they had remained in this locust nest. The grim reaper stalks this land ready to strike at a moment’s notice. The GPL security chief is a prime example.
how do you know they had no right to be in Trini ?
is it the governments fault that wages are what they are in Guyana or the people who vote the government in ?
I know how low the wages are in Guyana and u r right they are pitiful but if you dont have the infrastructure in place to make the average wage increases where do you lay the blame?
taking away their jobs, now they are revolting.
our govt. is not planning for the future but for tomorrow only, they cannot see the picture beyond their nose, their only interest is for themselves and hoe they will live their lives tomorrow.
we are yearning to return home, but the politicians are only making things worst.
Thank God they were not killed in Barbados .
my sypathy goes out to the families of these victims.Just know that nothing goes unpaid for in this world and who ever these people are that did this terrible act will pay if not by man but by god.
My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of the late vinod dubay may his soul rest in peace
I know vinod very well he like a brother to me,i could only imagain what his family is going through when the heard about his death.I hope and pray that his killers be caught and put behind bars.May god grant your soul eternal rest brother vinod.
I am a Guyanese National living in Trinidad with my family. When I heard the news, I was very emotional. I do not know them, but I do know a lot of Guyanese work on construction sites in Trinidad, you know why?? because they are hard working, can do the work and work on week-ends (no “liming” on Friday nights).
Crime in Trinidad now is far higher than in Guyana. A lot of kidnappings, murders, rape etc. goes on here like a daily routine.
A call for all Guyanese in Trinidad – please be careful, do not get invloved in illegal acts, do not make people here know your business, there are jealousy all over the world, Trinidad is no exception. These Guys lives were snuffed out just so and it is sad that they are not at home.
My sympathy to the families. Those of you who have families here, tell them to be careful and no liming here and there. I can tell you – after 3 months, they behave just like the Trinis when they get ready.
