Owner of VCT Channel 28 Anthony Vieira last evening refused to confirm or deny reports that he is in the process of selling his television station to a local entrepreneur.

“I don’t have to comment on that,” Vieira told Stabroek News when contacted last evening and asked if he was indeed selling the television station. Sources say a formal deal was to be signed this week.

Vieira, a PNCR-1G Member of Parliament is regarded as a pioneer of the television industry in Guyana. The Evening News, which is aired on the television station, is also one of the oldest television newscasts.
