If we born we must die but do we have to die outside the land of our birth?. Dr Allsopp was a patriot.He was a founder member of the Guyanes Association Of Barbados and was always interested in the welfare of his people here. Very few people knew that he spoke Hindi and used the common words used in Guyana in his lexicon. The likes of these intellects (Van Sertima, Allsopp) are difficult to replace and refutes the lie in certain circles that the descendants of Africans in the new world are waiting on handouts. The road ahead of us may appear narrow and steep but pales in comparison to what our ancestors overcame. Let's strive to reach the destination, instead of thinking of the complexity of the journey.
