The AFC on Wednesday announced that preparatory work has started for its 2nd Biennial Conference, to be held in July.

The Conference would be held on Saturday July 25, at the Ocean View International Hotel and Conference Centre, which is expected to be host to over 500 delegates and observers from all ten regions and several chapters in the Diaspora along with special invitees and guests.

According to a statement from the party, the conference would see elections for office bearers-the Leader, Chairman, General Secretary, Treasurer and 12 Committee Members who all comprise its National Executive Committee. The new Executive would be charged with managing the party’s affairs for the next two years.

The party will utilise the Electoral College system for the identification of delegates at the conference. It noted that local government and general elections are among the issues to be discussed.

The last AFC Biennial Congress was held on July 27, 2007 at the St. Stanislaus College.

The whole concept of a “third” party “rising above” the so called useless existing lot needs more dicsssuion. It was tried in othe countries (look a England with the Liberal party !)In the last election, the AFC took votes from whom ? And what about that poll givin them some big percentage win. They paid a pollster in arbados for a poll but didn’t use it because it gave tem sch a bad sowing. Instead, they used an inflated figure because the man who got paid had to show something for his money. Samaroo ?..

  3. yarrow UNITED STATES says:

Very good! Way to go AFC, its good that the party can cover all ten administrative regions……..the team of the conference should be, “ Making Guyana a safe place for all Guyanese to live”. This is a bread and butter issue. Why should I run away from my country?

Guyanese just keep running away from Guyana to lands of no return.

  4. turbo UNITED STATES says:

your govt has all the vision that is why you give buddys a loan and the tax payer was repaid with free hotel rooms and an egg ball for govt officials.

Your govt has all the vision that is why they had to use a known drug trafficker to help with crime fighting and law enforcement.

      Shall i continue solideer?

They are in reverse gear freespeech that is why your prezzo got nailed in trinidad when we exposed him for his dictatorial behaviour.

They are in reverse gear that is why 4000 sugar workers bailed from GAWU.

They are in reverse gear that is why JAgdeo lowered fares on the Berbice bridge after he vehemently insisted fares wont be lowered.

They are in reverse gear that is why the poo poo poo are in giddy up mode handing out house lot day and nite all of a sudden.

They are in reverse gear that is why Jagdeo calls up Sharma and threatens him if he airs certain AFC programming that exposes him giving away 34 Million USD to Clico

  6. john CANADA says:

a group of opportunist are heading for congress.guyana only solution towards economic recovery is recolonisation.we cannot run this country because we always want to out smart each other.there is no co-operation.everyone wants to be the next leader.if they cannot be,well form your own party and become a leader.

  7. blacksage CAYMAN ISLANDS says:

I am not convinced that the current crop of politicians, by whatever name, will make Guyana better.

AFC is simply a rehashing of PPP and PNC.

There is a perception that their experiences under the respective regimes, along with their (AFC) supposed intellectual achievements, will make them more effective. That in my mind is an illusion.

AFC does little to represent ordinary Guyanese currently. They are a party which apparently is waiting for power to do ’something”.

I am no fan of Jagan’s but at least he was working for his people while they were in the opposition.

Guyana is done. I believe that firmly.

  8. elijah UNITED STATES says:

i give u my blessing to be successful in next election….that is a true democratic guyanese party.. go brave AFC…

  10. NAVYSEAL BARBADOS says:

GO AFC!! I would luv for allyuh to tek ova da country and show dem PPP how da wuk is done. This is AFC, not KFC and POPEYES. They are going to lead Guyana out of the abyss. I gine back to Guyana & help the Guyanese people thru AFC.

    • Soldier UNITED STATES says:

Hahaaaa,,,This is healthy Seal, a very good laugh early in the morning does do some good…

    • Brandon Samaroo(Hail Jagdeo the Dictator) UNITED STATES says:

you are the man navy seal. This is exactly the game plan for the AFC to encourage more non resident Guyanese to join us and take back our country from these corrupt people.

    • coolieman UNITED STATES says:

No third party will ever make it in Guyana even Peter Dagiaur with his highway to happiness and his massive $$ and foreign help did not make it, those of you who are dreaming about the AFC leading Guyana will have a shock come 2011,the PNC will take back their votes and the PPP/C will increase theirs leaving the AFC without any seat to fight over who is going to collect a salary.

    • Brandon Samaroo(Hail Jagdeo the Dictator) UNITED STATES says:

The AFC took away votes from both the PHENC and the PPP last elections and this run we are going to dominate both of these corrupt entities. End of story.

The Guyanese public are totally fed up with the shenanigans and corruption of the PPP and PHENC.
