The 2 children are from dysfunctional families . The parents of these children should feel the full weight of the law. . the immigration officers and the police in Barbados , do not set Guyanese on fire ; therefore , I would like to ask the President Jagdeo if Guyanese are treated better in Barbados than in Guyana . the 14 year old girl , now deceased , changed schools because her mother could not afford the bus fare . In Barbados , school children ride free on the government owned buses . The inept PPP government should come to Barbados and learn how to govern a country and provide for its people . If this girl was living in Barbados , she would have been alive , today .

Thats exactly the problem. They making lots of children and dont have time to take care of them.
No money , no proper home ,a father who is never there, seems hes only home to get the mom pregnant every year.
You dont have to got to school to learn this,common sense will tell you to stop,
very sad for the kids because they really dont have anyone to guide them.
Stop making children .

what is really happening here, it so sad for the girl but come on people at the age of 14 u should be in school not married to your boyfriend.then 14 and pregnant, heres the law comes again, what happen to minor, she is still a kid so is the boy, guess he is out of a job and married to a 14 year, what can he provide .

Fourteen years old and allowed to “live home”. No one reported this to the Probation Officer. I would assume neither were going to school. Did the last school she attended report to the authorities that she was MIA. Isn’t there a law about children who drop out of school? So both sets of parents and somebody from the Regional education Dept need to be locked away for encouraging this ignorance. I cannot fathom that these grown “parents” didnt understand that a child is a child, not a wife.

I am not getting the point of this comment. regardless 14 yrs is 14 yrs and 16 yrs is 16 yrs. there are circumstances which forces some folks to mature faster than some and life is no bed-of-roses in guyana. they way things are in guyana, people definitely face a hard-knock life.

Why was a fourteen years old girl was not in school? Why was a fourteen years old girl allowed to live home with a sixteen years old boy who should also be in school? Both set of parents should be in police custody for negligence. “Can’t do better” is no excuse, somewhere along the line, making 8 children she must have notice things getting hard and should have stop bearing children. They should make sure that their children get an education so that they, the children, will not continue in their footsteps. How can she say her daughter was not suicidal when she was afraid she might kill herself?

that’s the thing; children is controling parents these days; we want them to be happy , so let them do as they please. we also don’t want police to put us in jail for controling our children, if we beat them; but it’s ok for their boyfriend to beat them. lost of control. the mother should have allow her to see the boy, put her on birth-control; but never allow her to live with him.

It’s a horrible sad lost of life. Unfortunately the example have been set by unmarried adults. Children in such environment often witness various abuse within the family. The sense of what’s right or wrong and the fear of being punish is void in society. None the less its not too late for change to occur. We need to empower people through informative criticism,and by example.
