Liloutie Persaud, the woman who was struck down by a 16-year-old unlicensed driver is still a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).
Persaud was transferred from the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit to the female surgical ward. Her sister Shondell has said however that her condition is still critical.

The injured Persaud had suffered severe head injuries following the accident rendering her incapable of feeling anything from the neck down. Further, doctors have told relatives that Persaud may never walk again.

On June 21, the unlicensed 16-year-old was the driver of his uncle’s car which hit Persaud who was standing in front of her Fourth Street, Alexander Village home.

There is also the charge of driving without a license … then there is a charge for the uncle who let him drive the car … if his uncle did not give him the car, then he must be charged for the theft of the car. It is time to bring discipline back to the roads of Guyana
