A 29-year-old electrician yesterday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer the charge of unlawful and malicious assault.
It is alleged that on June 26 at Georgetown, Marquis Glasgow of 52 Sandy Place, Kitty unlawfully and maliciously assaulted Aretha Wilson.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by the Acting Chief Magistrate.
When given a chance to respond, the defendant told the court that the charge emerged out of a misunderstanding between him and the VC. Glasgow said that on the day in question, after having an argument with Wilson, he threw his cup of hot tea into the sink out of anger and the VC got burnt since she was standing nearby. He said, however, that they no longer wished to pursue the matter.
The virtual complainant (VC) who is the mother of the defendant’s children said that it was indeed a misunderstanding and she wanted the matter to come to an end.
The matter was called to the bench and a lengthy discussion ensued.
Glasgow was subsequently placed on a bond to keep the peace for two years.

Why? Because since it was tea in the sink,he is viewd in a more lenient manner. For not putting a live wire in the teacup.
