The Ministry of Home Affairs last Friday donated a Nissan Frontier 4×4 vehicle and a JH125L Jailing motorcycle to ‘A’ division Community Policing Group (CPG).

Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee presented the items to ‘A’ division Chairman Rawle Blyden, the Government Information Agency (GINA) reported.

Rohee said that government encourages the establishment of CPGs since they are an integral part in crime fighting and he noted also that over the years several groups across the country have benefited.

“Government saw it necessary to provide members of ‘A’ division with more vehicles and will continue this gesture in order for you to carry out your respective operations,” the minister is quoted as telling the members.

Rohee pointed out too that despite limitations of the police force and the CPGs they are still doing their best to tackle crime and therefore should be congratulated.

Meanwhile, Blyden expressed gratitude to the government and said that the donation was timely since they will assist in reaching distant communities.

Government made a commitment to support CPGs by providing resources in the same way it has been strengthening the Guyana Police Force, given that the two groups work hand in hand. Since 2002, budgetary allocations were provided through the Ministry of Home Affairs to purchase equipment, uniform and other necessary equipment for CPGs throughout the country, GINA added.

yep yep this is the top notch crime strategery by our main man Rohee haww hee haw we have to get the CPG’s more equiped with spy equipment etc and they will police the country.

Actually this makes a lot of sense, Raja Khan was their Top CPG and the best they had so far in the country. The PPP are trying their best to get back into that mode of efficiency.
