Apart from not telling us where Mahdia (Lol, I am thinking Tyler Perry’s ‘Madea’!) I am not sure that the top left picture is an appropriate picture to sell Mahdia with the Toyota pickup in the foreground, unpaved road and houses that typify villages in Georgetown and environs. The negatives aside, I saw pictures of Jim Jones’ Jonestown and that was one beautiful community. The second picture with four peple walking on a narrow beaten path seems to fit more with hinterland hiking for the adventurous, and thus makes a better sale of Mahdia.

As a young woman I went to Mahdia as a school teacher in the late 70s early 80s. I was amazed at the beauty of the place. Mahdia is the center of guyana. From there you can visit more exotic sites. Guyana has a lot to see. Some of my fellow Guyanese need to visit other carribean island,only then will they know the beauty of our dear homeland.Do not judge Mahdia on two pictures. I challenge you to go see for yourself.

You know Mahdia when you name names those were the original people who developed Mahdia I am happy they are spotlighting Mahdia.It is one of my favorite places Lambert is my child father.People who are making negative comments need to go and see the beauty of the place. Don’t just judge from what they see in two photo.

“Mahdia is the the most wonderful place in Guyana!” Well judging from one of the pics…..I can’t tell. It looks terrible to me, a real mess! Don’t show people standing around like all they doing is gossiping. Show the river, or some trees or something in nature. Something more interesting than groups of people standing around like if they are in the slums.

It is sad what journalism and good reporting has become in Guyana. Sometimes, I am so embarrassed by the photograph that accompanies an interesting article. They just insert any kind of pic that you will think that a novice took and attach a good story with it. Stop it! It’s a turn off! In the future we hope to see improvement. Thanks for your hard work though.
