A man was on Friday sentenced to two years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery when it was read to him by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
On July 14 at Georgetown, Dellon Boucher, 19, of 43 Sparendaam, Plaisance Housing Scheme robbed Ociana Ray of one cell phone and a chain valued $32,000, property of the virtual complainant.
Ray, however, was not present in court.
When given a chance to respond, the defendant told the court that on the day in question he was accompanied by a group of friends when he saw the VC on the seawall and just ran up to her, choked her and relieved her of the items mentioned in the charge, before making good his escape.
“I just run up to she, choke she, tek away she phone and chain and run away,” the defendant explained.
Police Prosecutor Denise Griffith told the court that the VC was on the seawall sitting with a friend when the defendant and a group of friends approached her. The defendant, Griffith said, accosted the VC, choked her, snatched her chain, took away her cell phone and ran.
The acting chief magistrate then sentenced the unrepresented Boucher to two years imprisonment.

He deserves every bit of misery in prison that is coming to him
If this is not terror then nothing is…
Can you imagine the terror felt by those two that were sitting there seeing this criminal and his bunch coming to robbed them…he get two years and his friends out doing what they do best..terrorising innocent people….
Apart from jail time, he should’ve received several strokes of the cat-o-nine tail i bet he won’t do something like that again.
I agree with you here Amen-ra,,,This is barefacedness by this convict,,,Cat-o-nine tail is just the right punishment.
give them the cat-o-nine and you are the first who will say it’s a huma rights violation.

“I just run up to she, choke she, tek away she phone and chain and run away,” Alyuh gat dat? Was the video tape running all the time?

The brazeness of some teenagers and no remorse.
What next?
This young man is a sociopath along the lines of Willie Sutton who when asked “why do you rob all these banks, Willie?” replied “because that’s where they keep the money.” Or like the kid who steals from his grandmother and when he is asked “how can you steal from people who trusted you so?” replied “It’s very hard to steal money from people if they don’t trust you.” Then there is the kid who goes into restaurants orders, eats then walks out without paying the bill. The judge asked him “What is going on with you? I mean, why do you do this?” He replied “Well Judge, I go in and order the meals because I’m hungry. And then I don’t pay for them because I don’t have any money”.
He needs professional help.
… prof. help …. yuh mean like EDUCATION ????????????????????????
you sick brother you need help or contact eddie murphy for a job
Hope he enjoy his two years vacation in jail and come out a better person …but doubt it !
… remorseless ! it’s the malaise theat is inherent in the mindset of many like him in the society ,, which is the product of those who parented him and his contemporaries now in abundance all over the country !…..
EDUCATION i say ! EDUCATION…..
Apart from the actual crime itself…he should get another few years for speaking like that. I went to Richard Ishmael secondar school in the early eighties and the folks I went to school with did not speak in this manner…good lord! It also kills me when people write in that manner here…Seriously, doesn’t it take more effort to write in Guyanese ‘creolese’ than to speak it….
Stone P, I am 100% with you and the reason is I do not understand what they are trying to say, when I am trying to read their blog.
Conjugate the verb “to go” in future tense in urban creolese:
I guh guh
He/she/it guh guh
You guh guh
Them guh guh
All awee guh guh
