I know this family from back home, she was very nice person also her husband but her children are good to her,Her older son was the same he die this is her second son he smoke drugs i am very sorry and may her soul rest in peace. you never miss the water till the well runs dry

ALCOHOL,IS THE MAIN PROBLEM, THIS INDIVIDUAL WAS NOT MAD,HE WAS A DRUNK LIKE SO MANY OTHER GUYANESE MEN WHO CANNOT AND WILLNOT TRY TO CONTROL THEIR ALCOHOL.THEY DRINK GET DRUNK,BEAT THEIR WIVES KIDS AND NEXT DAY SAME THING OVER AGAIN.I WORK IN A JAIL IN FLORIDA AND GUYANESE MEN ARE DOING THE SAME THING HERE, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE WOMEN ARE NOT PUTTING UP WITH IT.

Soldier your name speak for yourself, perhaps you can defend yourself,but housewives, children and the elderly are repeatedly beaten by drunks on Fridays and weekends across Guyana. If you failed to grasp this simple truth, then you should go and observe for yourself.Bylaws need to be put in place to save the most vulernable since almost every village has an average of four rumshops.Unless tougher laws are in place the hatchery of drunks and wayward people will escalate. This is no offence to responsible people; I, am not taking away the freedom from person who enjoys a couple of drinks, but those drunks who abuse innocent and helpless people.

well i tell you i wont be…..sounds like this family is filled with it…they knew he does drink rum but thats ok….they knew he does drugs but thats no ok…not one of them mentioned drugs but tellin we he head aint good since he got a woopin some years back..
if his head aint good why did he not walk in a police station and beat up and try to kill a police officer or a man on the street twice the size of him….like if anyone will fall for this crap coming from family….this killa must never…and i do mean never walk the streets of Guyana ever again….if he is a loonie bin to kill his own mother then who are we to him???possibility he might be jailed and be out and will kill again….life in prison must mean what it says…..

Why is everyone blaming the siblings when it was clear that the mother bailed the son out of situations that could have voided this attack.

Since women continue to abet their abusers the law needs to be enforced with or without the victim’s consent.

I agree with you. the son did seek some kind of help from the police but the mother would always beg for him.. There are a lot of mentally ill people all over the place and many do not know it. Those of us who recognise it need to educate them and help them seek attention for their illnesses.. Alcoholism is a problem, a grave problem and the necessary authority is doing nothing about it to curb this serious problem.

This whole thing is so sickening. No child should attack their parent especially their mothers.

The whole lot of those children are responsible for the mother’s death, not only the one who killed her . They basically did nothing while she was beaten over those years to her death.

If they do not get it at one shop they will go to another and get it…This should be home training and respect. Himmm! Yes he is partially responsible and also once crime is committed, thats prior to this killing, why the law did not rehab or keep close look. Thats the call of a loving mother dispite the hardship she loves her son and excuse him from the penalty, but once the crime committed, they law at least would have done some thing.
I am inside out. I see this stranger as my mom and it rips my heart.
I never read one like this. The end of time. Turst in God my people and stand stronge. I am hurt for such an aunt.

Don’t forget Dr Booze himself , it starts with his company manufacturing the liquor . He’s the guy that gets the awards for producing the best rum in the caribbean and everybody sends him letters of appreciation for his achievement .

He’s getting the praise for being a good son of Guyana and laughing his way to the bank , living a comfortable lifstyle , while the other sons of Guyana are killing their families after consuming his products.

This man is a brute in human form. Davendra and his sister knew of everything about their brother’s abuse to their parents, “but minding too much your own business” is a reflection of selfishness and narrowness. This should be a great lesson to all in Guyana and everywhere who torture and abuse their parents. This heinous act of killing one’s mother has reflected very poorly on the Guyanese people and the country. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. There are serious consequences to immoral and degrading actions, and “this killer/murderer of his mother” should be made to face the full force and power of the law when found guilty in maximum penalty with hard labour. He deserves nothing less than Life imprisonment or the hangman’s noose! Mind you, he will kill again and the victims may be his siblings in his repeat. Hit on the head and fight with friends are filmsy excuses. Unacceptable.
