Ayube Hamid called ‘Little’ and Bissoondial Mahadeo, a labourer called ‘Weedman’, were charged with the murder while Bibi Farida Khan called ‘Pum’, Shamiza Khan called ‘Sham’, and Hoosman Khan called ‘Strongman’ were charged with procuring and abetting the murder.  They were not required to plead and were remanded to prison by Magistrate Fazil Azeez.

It is alleged that on September 8 at Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara, Hamid and Mahadeo murdered Singh. Further, it is alleged that between September 2 and 8, at Windsor Forest, the Khans “did counsel, procure, aid, abet and command the said Ayube Hamid and Bissoondial Mahadeo to murder the said Motilall Singh”. The Khans are the stepchildren of Singh.

Reports are that the relatives were involved in a property dispute and were unhappy that Singh had wanted to sell. As a result, they conspired to murder him. They alleged hired Hamid and Mahadeo to do so. A post-mortem examination on Wednesday had revealed that Singh, 44, died as a result of haemorrhage and shock due to multiple stab wounds.

The bloodied body of Singh was found close to a tiny bridge at Second Street, Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara around 2 am on Monday. He had been stabbed multiple times.

Police said in a statement that the man had been heading to his Second Street, Windsor Forest home when three men confronted and stabbed him several times. Investigators visited the scene and found Singh lying on the road with all his money, jewellery and other personal property intact. He died before receiving medical attention.

The Khans and Mahadeo had been in police custody since Monday while Hamid, who is Singh’s son-in-law, was taken into custody on Tuesday. After police completed their investigations, they were all charged.

Singh had returned to Guyana over two weeks ago to attend his brother’s funeral and was due to return to New York today.  As the accused were

escorted out of court yesterday, relatives erupted

in tears.

The case will be called again on October 8 at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court.

Congratulations to the G.P.F. were bringing charges against the accuseds for the murder of this man. Let’s hope there are convictions and the guilty are severely punished for this dastardly act. For someone who is the member of the foreign service and ultimately represents the people of Guyana and the government of Guyana your comments on this particular tragedy are inappropriate and insensitive.

I am however, quite pleased that the world and the rest of Guyana can see the substandard quality of people we have as part of the PPP. Great service Nawwrman, Keep up the good work.

Stop you nonsense evileyes you have nothing proper to write this good morning so please do not blog. I notice this reporter did a good job on this piece because Reddy did not give his stamp of disapproval. I too think it was spot on. Thumbs up SN.

Yes i like this papers but i do not agree with everything written here like you (evileyes), coolieman, witchDR and otheres opposes everything that is not pro-government.
Ii love Jagdeo response to the Mormons whether or now his party/Govt has a bone to grind my take is if you break the law then they should be penalties and this includes Ministers of Government and their friends and family. However, I do not agree with a man treating his wife as dirt and worst yet if he is the president of my country but you guys don’t see a problem with that. I give the President Thumbs up when he does well and i tear him apart when he doesn’t. The truth is i don’t care much for the the PPP but even that i am not blinded by this emotion when it comes to our national interest. That’s why as much as i disagree with Ravi Dev on many issues he has a right to say what he wants as a citizen but whenever he takes up that government position that Uncle Freddie say he has been offered then our fight begins because he cannot take his same old partisan ideology to government. See my drift evileyes.

For all the Government Ministers Nadir is the one i dislike most. he is a flippant and would change in a flash to benefit himself. I remembered on the 18th December 1997 on Main Street when he claimed he was robbed votes during the December 15th election and in a few weeks he changed his mouth and a few months after that he was working with the Government. He used to live not too far from where the Guyexpo is usually held, the house is now run down, and two years after his position with the government this guy owns a big house. How many people is Guyana you know life can change so fast for. I can never trust a man like that. So i am waiting on Mr. Dev. It’s all about Character Evileyes.

I seldomly have time to read my SN and blogging I don’t do because I can’t handle ignorance and many of the bloggers here have displayed it to the highest level. However everytime I take a peep of my SN one blogger disgust me the most Reddy from Barbados and I will take a min of my precious time to ask him a few questions .
    1. How can u be proud of another country even worse a country that dislikes Guyanese to the bones? And dont even try to dispute that… i was there had the most pretigious job with Caricom skilled national status …but I can never ever be in a country that speak so little of mines ..they say we are hand to mouth …basically begging lodging in their country.
2.Secondly i sense you are very proud of Guyana including its governance ….So don’t u think it is quite parodoxical u keep bragging about living in Bim? Maybe you are a bit too simple to get it.
3.I was in rage once while shopping in Sheraton Mall when a 5 Bajan note was on the floor and someone comment was …leave it some Guyanese will pick it up. Actually they were correct people like you will make them continue to say such…you people disgust me.
    3. All i am saying …friend stop bragging about living in Barbados because you are looking very bad to people like me who know better….. because I am sure when u in Swann street you try to disguise yourself and if people pick u out as a Guyanese you will cuss them but still you come on here bragging about living in Bim. lol
    4. Have a good day!

    • bhishma CANADA says:

Well said Sir! We must remind bajans that Gyanese people once open our arms to thousand of bagans who were seeking greener pastures then.I would not live in Barbados since most of them are selfish.
