Errol Vieira of Thomas Street, North Cummingsburg was on Thursday remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court for allegedly threatening to kill a woman after she had objected to him indecently exposing himself to her.

Vieira pleaded not guilty to a threatening language charge when it was read to him by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
He denied that he used threatening language to Ashley Pires on September 9 at Thomas Street, North Cummingsburg.

He was later remanded to prison and ordered to make another court appearance on September 16. The magistrate said that Pires will have to be summoned.
The prosecution noted that Vieira and Pires are neighbours.

The prosecution stated that on the day in question Vieira was in his yard making sounds like a cat to draw attention to himself while  Pires was on her veranda facing his house.

When Pires looked in the direction of the strange sound,  she saw Vieira wrapped in a towel and he began making romantic remarks to her.
The prosecution noted that Vieira then opened his towel and indecently exposed himself to Pires.

Pires then went inside and told her mother who came outside and berated Vieira for what he had allegedly done.
Vieira, the prosecution said, then started threatening to kill Pires.
Meanwhile, Vieira refuted the prosecution’s statements.

He said “Ow ya worship, I would never do something like duh.  I gah better things fuh do than mek sounds like some cat.”
He said that on the day of the incident he was indeed in his towel in front of his door but he had underpants on and  he at no time exposed himself to Pires.
He also stated that he never threatened to kill her.
