A 45-year old Craig, East Bank Demerara man was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital last evening nursing two gunshot wounds after he was shot during a robbery at a Kaneville, East Bank Demerara shop.
Khrishna Persuad was making a purchase in the shop at Lot 319, Third Street Kaneville around 7.30 last evening when bandits attempted to rob it. He sustained two gunshot wounds in the process, one to the left thigh and the other in the region of his upper abdomen. It is unclear whether the intruders took any valuables from the shop or from Persaud.
The man’s sister-in-law told this newspaper last night that he was undergoing emergency surgery in the main operating theatre of the public hospital to have the bullets removed. She said that she was not at home when the incident occurred but that Persaud had gone to the shop to make a purchase when he was shot. She said that he appeared to be in some discomfort at the hospital but was told he was in a stable condition.
The matter was reported to the police.

Kaneville is becoming a robbery haven n the law enforcement seems interested in only allowing it to continue…i repeat as in a previous blog that d police at Grove Plice Station are yet 2 act on mattr involving my friend and his wife from Grove Housing scheme.
They reported a phone number from which someone called to make orders for steel rod(which my friend sells)only to realise that the caller was sending two bandits 2 rob them.
‘The police are sill investigating,’i'm sure will b d reply
Time to promote Rohee haws…..Fantastic work by the PPP mismanaging the security infrastructure the past 17 years.
A crime is committed, but often, instead of showing compassion and commenting on the victims plight, any bandwagon that rolls along asking for gifted fools to distort the news, gets a full compliment of these sorry losers.
