I don’t kmow much about the environment, economy, and conditions in Guyana, but this facade smells of pandering to a dying Capitalist element who truthfully has no interest in your welfare.

To what extent they encourage and underwrite your efforts, it is nothing more than a collection of opportunistic and insidious collaborators seeking to unfairly exploit and subjugate your region’s resources and people.

You would be better off to extricate yourself from the domination of the globalization fraud and seek to work amongst yourselves in a strategy of village/neighborhood equity and sovereignty, inter-community and inter-regional cooperation, moving towards relocalization and self-sufficiency. Do an inventory of your assets/resources relative to such a strategy and make your claims independent of a failed Capitalist globalization hegemony.

Look to ALBA.

This is nothing but hypocrisy at its best. How in the name of Jehovah, can the current government of the failing state of Guyana seriously attempt to promote above board trade when it is widely known that Guyana cradles nacro-traffickers and promotes opaqueness in service delivery? Let us get serious. What this Government must do to restore its long lost credibility is to organize an International Law Enforcement Show in partnership with Interpol, the United Nations Agency against Narcotics Trafficking, Scotland Yard, the FBI to demonstrate how it is willing to rid the country of drug smuggling and all that is associated with this scourge.

I will speap on 2 subjects addressed here.

1. The PPP did not begin as a racist party and Dr. Cheddi Jagan was red yes, but NEVER a racist. I do not believe that Bharat Jagdeo is a racist. He reacts to the opposition who colours everything with the race card. If the PPP became an “Indian” party, blame Burnham and the PNC for engineering teh split.

2. I have been to several GuyExpo and I actually went to the first sort of expo (at same site) as a schoolboy in the 70’s. Notsure what it was called then. This exhibition attracts very little foreign interest if any at all and I believe that it is more or less for locals to see see what’s happening in Guyana and to have a good time.

What needs to happen is the manfacturing sector with the help of the Govt. should attend trade fairs and expos in neighbouring countries with much larger populations and more potential importers for our products.

Come on Guys;lets face reality! GuyExpo has been going on for years and has been a very good social event for Guyanese who would otherwise not have much today. While I was in Guyana, I attending every GuyExpo until 2001. I always enjoyed the beers, the food, the music and never shopped a damn thing.

While the event is an excellent idea of showcasing local manufacturing, it lacks the extension of export and international marketing ability. It would be a good idea if we can start to measure the effectiveness of sales, and international sales; which i think is the original intent of the GuyExpo.

Otherwise, it is another Mashramani or Diwali event. Fun and Sport..no increased production and exporting.
