Thirty-four-year-old Stephen Hartman Singh, a technician of 7 Johanna South, Black Bush Polder and 27-year-old Bibi Sheiniza Ally also of the said address, both pleaded not guilty to the joint charge of conspiracy to commit a felony when it was read to them.

The allegation is that between September 30 and November 3, with intent to defraud, Singh and Ally conspired with each other and with persons unknown to forge one birth certificate, property of Ryan Anthony Mangee knowing same to be forged.

Singh was further charged for the offences of uttering a forged document and giving false information for procuring a passport.

It is alleged that on November 3 at the US Embassy, Singh, with intent to defraud, presented to an official of the US Embassy, one  certificate of birth in favour of himself, purporting to be Ryan Anthony Mangee, property of Ryan Anthony Mangee knowing same to be forged.

On May 9, 1997, at the Central Immigration and Passport Office, for the purpose of procuring a Guyana Passport, the said Singh is alleged to have to have stated that he was Ryan Anthony Mangee, knowing same to be false.

Attorney-at-law Vic Puran who represented the defendants told the court that someone tricked his clients into what he termed a “genuine bogus.”

According to Puran, Singh’s uncle took him to the United States sometime ago to reside there with him but Singh never examined the documents and as a result was not aware that his uncle had used documents belonging to a Ryan Anthony Mangee instead of Singh’s.

The lawyer said that it was not until Singh returned to Guyana recently to have his documents renewed that he made the forgery  discovery.

After stating that Ally was placed on station bail, Puran said that he will leave all other details for the trial at which they will vigorously oppose the charges.

He then made an application that his clients be admitted to reasonable bail on the grounds that they have no previous convictions, pose no risk of flight, have fixed addresses, and have been cooperating with police investigations.

The prosecution had no objection to the bail application made by the attorney.

The father of two was subsequently admitted to bail in the sum of $255,000 while Ally was placed on $85,000 bail.

Reddy is the sun getting to you come and get lil cold in lond and chill out I am worried about state of mind lately.

wrong is wrong and this is always the problem instead of going to the relevent embassy having lead a clean life.

And asking what do i need to do visit your country these people look for some scampish way to obtain entry which in turn spoils it for everyone because guyanese become highlighted as high risk. the US & UK know all the tricks right down to the phoney weddings

I have seen students from around the world study in the uk and keep returning unhindered when they have finished courses. simply because they obeyed the rules and not overstayed.

My advice go to the embassy first thats what they are there for to help.

This is one of the methods some not most but a good set in this group operate and they will do it with a dry face.

I can speak openly because this area Reddy because of my pass Policing experience in Guyana.

This an indictable offence because this is how Guyana harbors terror.

“Singh never examined the documents and … was not aware that his uncle had used documents belonging to a Ryan Anthony Mangee instead of Singh’s.” Eh-eh. Reminds me of the student in high school long ago who told the HM that although she typed the letter defaming the HM, she did not read it!

  3. sharda UNITED STATES says:

This is an old technique Guyanese have used for a long time.
The US embassy is more strict than before, fraud has a penalty, they both should go to jail for that if guilty.
No matter how Guyana is, fraud is not the answer.

  4. Datuk Askay CANADA says:

He would have known that the nmae on the passport etc were not his and furthermore he would have known this when he purchased tickets from Guyana and USA.

Come on Mr. Puran, let your client bear the heat of the problem. All you have to say, is thta becauses of the many criminal problems in Guyana, people like Mr. Singh, resorted to other means to find a better life.

Whatever you choose to call it, the man used a passport that was not his own to get the hell out of Guyana as soon as possible.

Let’s not be foolish, you don’t go thru airport, buy ticket, etc without your name call and ID and he knew he was using someone else own and it almost work perfectly for him.

Even Canada smarten up and impose visa restrictions due to the fraudulence and bad behavior. But no one gine call down brimstone and fire on lovely Canada right?? LMAO

But yuh right Heaven, as the police let him go, you dun know he gine try and make his way to Bim.
