Dhaneshwar Tumeshwar, who sustained a gunshot wound when his home was attacked by robbers, is now recovering in the High Dependency Unit of the Georgetown Hospital with a bullet lodged in his back.

Tumeshwar, 46, of Corentyne, Berbice was wounded in the chest after his house was invaded by masked bandits on Saturday afternoon. The bandits carted off cash in excess of $500,000 and jewellery totalling $5M. No one has been arrested. Tumeshwar, also called Scott, said that he is hoping to be discharged since his children are missing school. He says that the bullet lodged in his back cannot be removed until his current wound heals.
