The Japanese government recently announced it would confer its highest honour on Guyana’s former Ambassador to Japan Rudolph Insanally in Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday.

Insanally, the Former Foreign Affairs Minister, received the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun for his contribution towards the strengthening of friendship between Japan and Guyana, and Japan and the Caricom countries, a release from the Japan Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago said.

Insanally is also former permanent representative of Guyana to the United Nations and President of 48th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. He was presented  the decoration by the Japan Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago. He is currently the Special Advisor to the President on Foreign Affairs.
