I spent my Christmas in St Vincent where I was able to get a good supply of breadnut(chataigne, since I am from Trinidad). My mother and sister were there with me. Thanks to my mother who offered to clean all that breadnut. In Trinidad I never had the opportunity to clean it since we always bought it already cleaned. Don’t really like doing it. Anyway we feasted on cooked breadnut and even brought some (a lot) back to Canada with us. Husband returned after us and brought more. I am presently enjoying the fruits of the land and more so, after reading about the nutritional benefits of chataigne. I promise to try the green fruit when next I return which I’ve had once before many years ago. Love it, love it.

I confess that when I saw the photo, I thought it was jackfruit – which I love. I don’t know if I could get breadnut here in San Diego, which might actually be a good thing. I don’t shy away from work either, but honey, you outdid yourself with this one!!!
