Caribbean inferno set to sizzle tonight

Closing its 2009 “Painting the Spectrum” film festival, SASOD presents a Caribbean-themed fundraising party and cabaret show called “Caribbean Inferno” tonight at the former Pentagon Club in the Majestics Building at 288 Middle Street, Georgetown.

With Caricom Day approaching on Monday, SASOD promises a sizzling-hot cabaret show with a Caribbean twist featur-ing special performances from top dancers and singers. Doors open from 9 pm and tickets cost $1,000 in advance and $1,500 at the gate. Tickets are available at Majestics Music Masters, 288 Middle St; D & J Snackette, 67 Leopold & Cross Sts; Sidewalk Café & Jazz Club, 176 Middle St; Oasis Café, 125 Carmichael St; and Oasis Too, 216 South Rd. Proceeds are in aid of SASOD’s work on homophobia, human rights and health promotion.
