Tokio Hotel live in concert this weekend

DIRECTV and Cityvibe present German band, Tokio Hotel will be live in concert on Channel 999 this weekend.

The “Scream” and “Ready, Set, Go” performers premiered yesterday and will continue today and tomorrow.

Tokio Hotel was founded in 2001 by singer Bill Kaulitz, guitarist Tom Kaulitz, drummer Gustav Schafer, and bassist Georg Listing.

The quartet has scored four number one singles and has released two number one albums in Germany, selling nearly 5 million CDs and DVDs there.

The band released its first German-language album ‘Schrei’ in 2005. ‘Schrei’ sold more than half a million copies worldwide and spawned four to five singles in both Germany and Austria.

In 2007, the band released its second German album ‘Zimmer 483’ and its first English album ‘Scream’ which have combined album sales of over one million copies worldwide and helped win the band its first MTV Europe Music Award for Best InterAct.

‘Zimmer 483’, spawned three top five singles in Germany while Scream spawned two singles that reached the top twenty in new territories such as Portugal, Spain, and Italy.

In September last year, Tokio Hotel won its first MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. It also picked up the Headliner award at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008.

This weekend’s live shows promise energetic performances of the hit singles “Scream” and “Ready, Set, Go” to satisfy the demands of Tokio Hotel’s growing English-speaking fan base.
