Culture Fest 09 on at QC

The Performing Arts Association of Guyana is staging Culture Fest 09 at the Queen’s College auditorium on July 17 and 18.

In a press release the group said it hosted its first performance at Carifesta X.  It was registered at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport as a non-profitable organisation and is managed by a national executive comprising 12 members.  The group aims to create opportunities for youth to learn and participate in dance, theatre and other productions.

The programme for Culture Fest 09 – ‘An Explosion of Arts and Culture’- will entail poetry recitals, calypso, ballroom dancing and other forms of entertainment. It will feature artists such as Henry Rodney, Mighty Rebel, Bill Rogers and Ms Debbie and the Crystallite Dancers.

The show will be held from 8 pm to 11 pm.
