Local vintner offers eight wines for Christmas

Local vintner Warren Douglas has produced eight local wines for the Christmas season and will host two wine tastings next week on December 18 and 20.

Warren, who with his wife Tracy own and manage Pandama Retreat on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway, has made eight wines which are on sale at $2,000 a bottle. The wines include Cherry, Jamoon, Plum, Pineapple, Gooseberry, Five Finger and Auntie Desma.

On December 18, wines can be sampled at 272 Forshaw Street, Queenstown from 5 pm to 7 pm and a round with three selections costs $1,000.

On December 20, Pandama hosts its Holiday Sunday Brunch and Wine Tasting at the retreat from 11 am to 4 pm. The brunch costs $2,000 for adults and $1,500 for children and the menu includes a wide range of tasty items like fresh fruit, soup, salads, baked omelettes, crepes, home fried potatoes, pancakes with Pandama syrups and pastries. The wine tasting price is $1,000 for a round of three selections.

The Douglases told The Scene that they would advise that persons make reservations for the brunch and they can do so by calling 654-1865 or 627-7063 and asking for Warren or Tracy.
