Roy McCoy, who was injured in the motorcycle crash that killed two persons on the Essequibo Coast on Saturday is to undergo an operation tomorrow.

The youth had suffered a broken pelvic bone and broken shoulder as a result of the accident.
Twenty-one-year-old Rudranauth Narayan called ‘Buffy’ of Johanna Cecelia and 36-year-old Mahendranauth Deonarine, a rice farmer of Lima Housing Scheme died in the crash. A relative told this newspaper on Friday, that McCoy will undergo surgery on Monday to “fix” the pelvic bone. He had been transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital from the Suddie Hospital on Wednesday to undergo a head scan but nothing out of the ordinary was found.

Another person, Parbattie Bisnauth was also injured in the accident and had been admitted to the Suddie Hospital. Late Saturday, reports said, Deonarine was overtaking a car, when he collided with the motorcycle that Narayan and McCoy were on. They were heading in the opposite direction. They collided head-on on the La Belle Alliance public road. Deonarine reportedly died on the spot while Narayan was pronounced dead on arrival at the Suddie Hospital
