Twenty-two-year-old football player O’Kenny Fraser was yesterday placed on $80,000 bail for allegedly being involved in a fight that resulted in the other man sustaining a broken jaw.

Fraser entered a not guilty plea to the charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm when acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson read it to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It stated that on August 13 last year he inflicted grievous bodily harm on Shawn Lashley.

His lawyer, Sasha Roberts, applied for reasonable bail for him on the grounds that he had been granted bail in another court for another matter relating to the incident.

She also stated that her client posed no risk of flight and would return to court for his trial.

The prosecution made no objections to the bail application and it was subsequently granted.

Fraser is scheduled to make another court appearance on February 10 at Court Five.
