Guyana Chronicle updates, relaunches website

The Guyana Chronicle revamped and relaunched its website to facilitate the easy retrieval of information and boost service on Wednesday.

At a ceremony held to mark the occasion, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds said he was pleased that “an entity such as the Guyana Chronicle is taking an advanced step in staying abreast with the technological age.”

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release  IT Consultant Girendra Persaud said the site is a static website that not only aids the storage of news articles in different categories but helps in the archiving of information as well.

The site consists of a front page which contains advertisements and other features, a news page and a sports page.  Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Guyana Chronicle Keith Burrowes said plans are in train to make the website more accessible to the business community both locally and internationally, in order to garner more commercial growth.

He said too, thought it is still a work in progress, the Board is moving towards increasing revenue.

The website is also targeting more interaction from the younger generation through online quiz competitions. The Guyana Chronicle website can be accessed at www. guyanachronicleonline.com.
