Motorbike bandits dupe, rob man on Thomas Lands

Two bandits on a motorcycle committed a daring robbery on Thomas Lands yesterday morning during which they used a haversack to stop a car and relieved the driver of some $170,000.

According to reports reaching Stabroek News the man had just collected some money from a city location and as he was driving along Thomas Lands, the bandits sped pass, him on a motorcycle. One of the men then dropped a haversack in the path of the car and the driver stopped.

As he did the men pounced and one of them held him in a chokehold while the other grabbed the money he had. They then escaped on the motorcycle.

This newspaper was told that the police have since been given the motorcycle’s license plate number.

Investigations are ongoing.
