Soldiers injured after driver loses control

Two soldiers sustained injuries on Wednesday when the vehicle they were travelling in ran off the road.

According to a release from the Georgetown Hospital, Shameer Roland, 31 who sustained injuries to the neck, right shoulder and head was admitted a patient while 22-year-old Sherwin Major who sustained an injury to the head was treated and sent away.

They are both stationed at Base Camp Ayanganna.

The release added that the two were brought to the institution’s accident and emergency unit at 20:57 hours after the driver of the vehicle they were travelling in lost control and ran off the road, injuring them in the process. It is unclear where the accident occurred.
