The PPP says Youman Nabi offers everyone an opportunity to reflect on the message of the Holy Prophet since today much of the teachings has been distorted and misunderstood.

The ruling party contended that this was due both to deliberate  spreading of false information and also to ignorance.

In extending best wishes to all Guyanese and to the Muslim community in particular on the occasion of Youman Nabi, the PPP said “it should be re-emphasized that the message of Islam is one of peace, goodwill and justice for all mankind.”

And these are objectives that still have to be struggled for in this world, the party noted, as it turned its  thoughts “to the Palestinian people and the great injustice and oppression that they have been subjected to for more than six decades.”

“We extend our solidarity to them on this auspicious occasion,” the PPP added.
