‘Animal’ remanded on armed robbery charge

Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton remanded to prison a Laing Avenue man accused of armed robbery, when he on Tuesday appeared to answer to the charges in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Jermaine Wilson called ‘Animal’, of 173 Laing Avenue was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of robbery under arms.

It is alleged that on December 30, he used a gun to rob Eon Jilkes of a cell phone valued $30,000 and $7,400 in cash.

Prosecutor Joel Ricknauth requested that Wilson be remanded to prison and that a date be set for the Administration of Justice Act to be applied to the charge making it a summary one that Wilson would be able to plead to.

Wilson was ordered to return to court on March 15.
