Voter education to begin at places of worship

The IRO at its statutory meeting on Wednesday last adopted the initiatives coming out of a meeting to facilitate voter education at various places of worship at which GECOM will preside, following a previous meeting with the commission on February 16, an IRO press release said.

Meanwhile, religious leaders can participate in this programme by contacting Reverend Ronald McGarrell on 626-1010 and Swami Aksharananda on 276-0019, the release said.

And to facilitate these interventions, the IRO said it would encourage all Guyanese, especially members of the religious community, to participate in the processes that affect their lives at the local level.
