Woman fined $7,500 for indecent exposure

Magistrate Ann McLennan fined a 45-year-old woman $7,500 after she pleaded guilty to indecent exposure, when she on Tuesday appeared in the Christianburg Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge.

In her defence, Dacie Leitch of South Amelia’s Ward told the court that her pants fell from her hips while she was pulling a piece of zinc in her yard.

Police Prosecutor Nauth told the court that on Sunday, around 5.30 pm police received a report that the woman had indecently exposed herself to a man who had approached her with a complaint about her son.

According to a report, Leitch told the man that she had no satisfaction to give him and at the same time she pulled down her pants and underwear and exposed her rear to the virtual complainant. She was ordered to pay the said sum or serve an alternative of one week imprisonment.
