Cummings Lodge woman injured in crash

A 40–year-old mother of two was last evening nursing injuries to several parts of her body following an accident on Aubrey Barker Street, South Ruimveldt Park yesterday.

According to reports, Yvette Goring, of Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara was driving her car along the roadway around midday yesterday when another vehicle, said to be a pick-up, collided with her car from behind. She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by public spirited citizens in an unconscious state.

She sustained injuries to the neck, hip and other parts of her body and according to a relative, Goring was in a serious condition and was crying and complaining of pains in her back. She said the injured woman regained consciousness late yesterday afternoon.

Police are said to be investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
