A food vendor was granted $100,000 bail when she appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
Gillian Hyman, 52, of 2948 North Ruimveldt was not required to plead to the indictable charge when it was read to her.
It is alleged that on April 22, she conspired with person(s) unknown to forge a Government of Guyana passport in favour of Joan Mars, purporting to show that the document was issued by the immigration office, knowing same to be false.
Attorney-at-law Adrian Thompson representing Hyman said that she had no previous matters before the court and has a fixed place of abode. He asked for reasonable bail to be granted. He further stated that Hyman denies the allegation and disputes that the picture in the passport was hers.
The prosecutor did not object to bail. Hyman was then placed on bail and the matter was put down for June 2.
