Brazilian miner stabbed to death at Black Water

A Brazilian miner was stabbed to death on Sunday at Black Water Backdam, Mazaruni, during a heated argument with two fellow country men.

Dead is Goncalver Da Silva, 30. He was rushed to the Bartica Hospital shortly after the incident but was pronounced dead on arrival. His remains were transported to the Lyken’s Funeral home yesterday.

Police said in a press release that around 14:30 hrs on Sunday, the dead man and two other Brazilian men were imbibing at a shop when an argument arose among them and Da Silva was stabbed.

It is unclear if any arrest has been made.
